The Eating Types Approach
The Eating Types approach is based on the work of Phil Werdell, who identified three distinct groups of people who struggle with food: food addicts, people with eating disorders, and normal overeaters. Food addiction and eating disorders can co-exist — some individuals have both conditions at the same time. Normal overeaters, by contrast, do not have food addiction or an eating disorder — they simply eat too much. Each group benefits from a different path to recovery.
This is why we screen every client and tailor our programmes accordingly — because understanding your eating type is the first step to finding the right solution.

“Understanding the science behind food addiction was a turning point. It’s not about lacking willpower — it’s about biochemistry.”
